Most eyes are on the battle for governor; however another race on the ballot is a first for the nation. Republican Rebecca Kleefisch is the first Lieutenant Governor to ever be recalled.

Her democratic opponent in the race, Mahlon Mitchell, made a campaign stop in Wausau, Wednesday. Mitchell, who serves as President of the Professional Fire Fighters of Wisconsin, says if elected he'll make priorities for public education and the middle class. He says he'll also work to bring the state together. "A problem in our state is that there is no compromise. No level of respect, and we need people to be able to come together and not disagree on everything, at the end of the day. You should come to some sort of compromise to do what’s best for the state”, says Mitchell

He is currently trailing Lieutenant Governor Kleefisch by five points in the Marquette University poll.

Meanwhile, Lt. Kleefisch is campaigning on the Governor's reforms; saying they have saved taxpayers money. She says she's become the state's jobs ambassador holding business roundtables and focusing on the skills gap. She says she doesn't anticipate she will be leaving office early. “I honestly have not thought about it because I do not see a scenario where we end up with that situation. I just don’t think there will be that much of a crossover vote in this race."

Depending on the outcome of the race there is a possible scenario that the top executive and the second-in-charge could be members of different political parties.
