Ann Romney Fires Up Milwaukee Crowd

Ann Romney says she thinks the Republican presidential ticket can carry the battleground state of Wisconsin.

The wife of Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney appeared at a rally Thursday at Marquette University's gymnasium. She told the crowd: "I think we can carry Wisconsin."

Mrs. Romney says the country is coming together for "this, the most critical election of our lifetime."

The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports Mrs. Romney was accompanied by Wisconsin first lady Tonette Walker.

Mrs. Romney also introduced four women who worked with her husband while he was governor of Massachusetts. She noted that women made up half of his cabinet.

Two new polls show President Barack Obama widening his lead in Wisconsin. Obama plans to host a rally on the Summerfest grounds in Milwaukee on Saturday.
