"Leftover Blacktop" Scam Hits Lincoln County
The Lincoln County sheriff says the department has gotten several reports of out of state contractors offering to do a blacktop job using left over blacktop from a neighboring work site at a reduced rate.
But, when it's done, the work and product are substandard and the verbal quote on cost was a lot lower than the actual cost.
The sheriff says it's best to hire local contractors who have local references.
Remember, if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.
