- October is Breast Cancer Awarness Month and many businesses and organizations are join in the fight against it by selling an array of products and then donating part of the funds back to research. But unfortunately, not all pink products and charities are created equal.
- 1,400 participants and almost 300 volunteers helped out at the Race for the Cure. Race coordinator Jennifer Smith says 75 percent of the proceeds from the race stay in Wausau while 25 percent go back to the national organization to fund research.
- Kelle Matz, 48, of Schofield is a breast cancer survivor who took part in last year's race. She says support from people who care, like those who participate in the race, has given her comfort and hope.
