In under twelve hours, runners will take to the starting line for the second annual Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure.

And there's still time for you to register if you'd like to get involved.

On-site registration will take place from 7:30 to 8 on Sunday morning at the 400 block in downtown Wausau.

Volunteers were on hand today at the Wausau Center Mall to sign participants up for the race.

Organizers say the community is buzzing with anticipation for this year's event.

"Certainly not just of the Central Wisconsin Komen affiliate, but then of the race event overall. And I think that's because people have really seen the impact that the funds provide in the communities the affiliate serves and that's really what this is all about," co-organizer Jennifer Smith said.

Last year's Race for the Cure brought more than 2400 participants to Wausau, and organizers expect a number similar to that this year.

They've already raised more than $190,000 in funds along with an additional $190,000 in matching support.
