Raising Awareness to Breast Cancer All by Wearing Pink
October is "National Breast Health Awareness Month" and many people throughout the area are joining in the fight against it.
Employees at certain businesses, including Trig's and County Market, are wearing pink and selling other items to raise awareness.
Local sports teams are also sporting pink and raising money.
Individuals can also get involved.
Organizers say if you want to be a part, it's important to have a little fun with it.
"They can use their creativity, they can dress up in pink and obviously stress the color and they can have everybody pay $5 and wear pink and jeans on a Friday afternoon," says Susan Ford-Hoffert, Susan G. Komen for the Cure.
Here at NewsChannel 7 we'll be wearing pink all next week in support of breast cancer awareness.
