The State Supreme Court will hear the case of the Weston couple convicted in the 2008 death of their daughter, Kara who died from untreated diabetes. Instead of taking her to see a doctor, Dale and Leilani Neumann chose to pray for her.
Day one of the Leilani Neumann trial is over. So far 16 potential jurors have been chosen. The goal is to chose 24, at which time the defense and prosecution can each dismiss 5. Neumann is charged with homicide in the death of her 11-year old daughter, Kara.
Dale Neumann himself, showed absolutely no emotion as he heard his fate. No one from the Neumann family spoke, but Neumann was heard...he was heard humming a song as he walked away, his bible firmly in hand.
The defense rested Thursday, after Dale Neumann took the stand. Friday closing arguments and deliberations are expected in the trial for the Weston man accused of second degree reckless homicide in the death of his 11-year-old daughter.
Live updates from Marathon County courthouse of Dale Neumann's reckless homicide trial. Neumann's daughter Kara, 11, died of untreated diabetes in March of 2008. Neumann's wife Leilani was convicted of the same crime in May.
It's Dale Neumann's defense attorney's chance to present his case, as prosecutor's wrap theirs. Neumann, 47, is on trial for recklessly killing his 11-year-old daughter Kara by not taking her to the doctor when she was dying of diabetes.
Though the jury has no evidence to consider yet, they're weighing what they heard in opening statements Saturday. Dale Neumann, 47, is on trial for second degree reckless homicide in the death of his 11-year-old daughter Madeline Kara.
