On Monday, May 18th, eight witnesses testified, including the physician who performed Kara's autopsy. He told the court there is no doubt the girl died of untreated diabetes - and if she had received medical help almost up until the time she died - she would be alive and living a normal life.
Jury deliberations in Leilani Neumann trial are underway. The 41-year old Weston woman is charged with second degree reckless homicide in the death of her 11-year old daughter, Kara. Authorities say she and her husband prayed for her instead of getting her medical attention and the girl died of untreated diabetes in March of 2008.
