WAUSAU, Wis. (AP) -- The Wisconsin parents convicted of using prayer instead of conventional medicine to try to heal their dying daughter will ask a judge for new trials.

Leilani Neumann is scheduled for a motions hearing Monday. Dale Neumann is set to appear in court Feb. 22.

Documents filed by their appeal attorneys say the Neumanns did not have adequate legal representation during their original trials. The two were found guilty of second-degree reckless homicide in the death of their 11-year-old daughter, Madeline. She died in March 2008 from complications of undiagnosed diabetes.

A judge in Marathon County sentenced the couple to six months in jail and 10 years of probation. But, he delayed their prison terms pending the outcome of appeals.
