Monday will be an emotional but exciting day for dozens of veterans in our area.

The Never Forgotten Honor Flight is scheduled to leave the Central Wisconsin Airport Monday morning.

The trip gives veterans in our area the chance to see the World War II memorial in Washington D.C.

George Tobalski served in World War II from 1944 until 1945.

He was an infantry soldier, and says he's looking forward to this trip, but admits he's going to tear up.

"I know I'll be looking for some names, where they got them engraved on the granite wall and one of them happens to be my cousin who lost his life at the beginning of this war," he says.

Ben Preisig is another veteran going on the flight.

He didn't serve in World War II, but was a company clerk stationed in California right before the war in 1941.

Preisig says he knows the trip will be an experience he'll never forget.

"It will be a great experience, something that you're lucky if it happens in your lifetime, it's just wonderful to be able to do that," says Preisig.

Both veterans say this trip will mean a lot to them.

Tobalski says what makes this trip extra special for him is that his son is flying from North Carolina to be his sponsor.
