Students Show Support for Area Veterans

Some students are showing their support for our area veterans. 4th and 5th graders at Schofield Elementary School presented veterans with a check for 200 dollars on Tuesday.

The money will go to the Never Forgotten Honor Flight, which sends World War II veterans to D.C. to see their memorial.

The Student Leadership group raised the money throughout the year with various fundraisers.

"We did school store which is where we got school supplies and stuff and then we sold them," says Johnny Kaloth, a 5th grade student.

"It's kind of a cool experience because we've been writing letters to them so seeing them up close and in person is pretty cool," says Kaylen Anderson, a 4th grader.

Students also listened to the veterans speak about their experiences in the war and learned more about the Honor Flight program.
