It was a well deserved heroes welcome as another group of Honor Flight heroes returned home from visiting our nation's Capitol.

The sixth Never Forgotten Honor Flight from North Central Wisconsin is in the history books as Monday 85 veterans experienced the most recent trip to Washington D.C. Upon safe arrival back at the Central Wisconsin Airport, many of the veterans expressed disbelief at the overwhelming turn out to welcome them home.

"I couldn't believe it; it was immaculate. A wonderful reception like that...I never figured" said World War II veteran Ed Duerr.

Even before the reception welcoming them home, veterans experienced a special "mail-call", receiving letters from their loved ones on their way home.

Many expressed that the trip provided overwhelming memories that would stay with them forever.
