Around 900 people are putting on their running shoes to support the veterans Saturday.
At the third annual Bull Falls Brewery 5K Run/Walk, more than double the number of participants signed up compared to the last two years.
The event helps raise money for the Never Forgotten Honor Flight, a trip that takes WWII veterans to Washington D.C. to the see the war memorials.
"The last couple years we sent 10 to 12 vets," said Mark Brummond, one of the organizers of the event. "We're hoping to double that number this year, get in the 20s. With the turnout that we have, I think we can do that."
Brummond says the majority of the money from registration goes toward the Honor Flight.
"It's a great cause," Brummond said. "Everybody's touched by a veteran in their life and it's our way of honoring them."
