BARRON, Wis. (AP) -- Family members say there are many surgeries yet to come, but the prognosis for a northwestern Wisconsin man whose left arm was reattached looks promising.

Thirty-five-year-old Shawn Redman of Barron lost the arm while working at the Jennie-O turkey processing plant on July 20. His arm became entangled in processing machinery and was severed just below his armpit. Redman turned to co-workers for help and was able to walk out of the factory after the accident. His arm was packed in ice and he was taken by air to St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester, Minn., where the limb was reattached.

Redman's wife, Angie, tells the Eau Claire Leader-Telegram that arteries and veins have been reattached, but future surgeries will reattach the nerves..
