As you prepare for the upcoming school year, health officials are reminding you to get your kids vaccinated.

A public health nurse with the Marathon County Health Department says getting vaccinated can protect your kids from a number of diseases like whooping cough and chicken pox.

"Vaccines are very important for the school aged kids because a lot of these diseases are still around, luckily, we don't see as much of them because of vaccines," says Carrie Sickler, R.N.

The Health Department offers a number of vaccines for $7.
