Marathon County has the most dairy farms of any county in the state. That's why doctors at Marshfield Clinic are working to better inform and treat people who work on those farms.

On the second Tuesday of every month, the Occupational Health Department is offering a clinic geared specifically for agricultural workers called the F.A.R.M. Clinic.

F.A.R.M. stands for Farm, Agricultural, Rural Medicine.

The patients who show up for the service are given consultation and made aware of issues like farmers lung disease, hearing loss and pulmonary issues related to work on a farm.

"Marshfield Clinic has a long history of serving the farm population. We're trying to gather the issues together and have a central clinic, somewhat of a primary care for farm related issues", said Dr. Steven Kirkhorn, Medical Director of the Clinic's Occupational Health Department.

The F.A.R.M. Clinic has been up and running for about 6 weeks.

The doctors will be giving out more information on the service during "Farm Technology Days".
