With summer here, many of us want to look our best. This makes us a little more conscious of what we put on our plates - but passing up a sweet treat is not always the easiest.
Before you reach for a cookie or cake to get the pick-me-up you crave, Victoria Tesch from Wausau Health and Fitness has a healthier sweet option. She suggests to use your favorite sugar-free jello pudding and pump it up by adding 2 scoops of protein powder. (On Sunrise 7 she featured sugar-free jello cheesecake pudding and vanilla protein powder). Tesch says to follow the instructions on the box, but to add a bit more milk since we are adding the protein.
To dress up your tasty treat, she suggests you add mixed nuts or your favorite summer berries - like strawberries, blueberries, and bananas.
Tesch says this is a great, simple recipe that will give you that sweet fix, it wont take a lot of time to prepare, and it's easy enough that the kids can help.
