MARSHFIELD, Wis. (AP) -- The Marshfield Clinic Research Foundation has named a specialist in pediatric genetics as its new executive director.
Dr. Robert Steiner comes from the Oregon Health & Science University in Portland, Ore. He is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Madison and its medical school.
Steiner tells the Marshfield News-Herald that he hopes to continue his research on rare cholesterol disorders and to work with the foundation's Center for Human Genetics on rare metabolic diseases and genetic conditions in children.
He also says he foresees broadening the scope of the work at the clinic's National Farm Medicine Center.
The Marshfield Clinic system provides patient care, research and education in more than 50 locations in Wisconsin.
