(Press Release) WAUSAU, Wis. – Aspirus Women’s Health is offering free breast exams and mammograms to women who qualify in Wausau on October 1.
The free screenings are available at the Aspirus Women’s Health Breast Center, located in the east entrance of Aspirus Wausau Hospital.
Telephone registration is required for the screenings, which include breast self-exam education, a clinical breast exam, a digital screening mammogram and referrals to any other necessary breast health services. If a problem is discovered during screening, the Aspirus program also provides coverage for the appropriate follow-up care, including diagnostic mammography, ultrasound and biopsy (excluding MRI).
To qualify for these free screenings, women must be older than 40, have no health insurance or a plan that prevents regular breast health screenings, and meet clinical screening criteria. For more information and registration and participation criteria, please call 715.847.2380 or 800.847.4707.
