Drop-off Unused Prescription Drugs on Saturday

MADISON, Wis. (AP) -- Unused prescription drugs can be dropped off at specified locations across Wisconsin on Saturday.

The state is participation in the National Prescription Drug "Take Back" Day.

Anyone with unwanted, expired or unused prescription drugs can drop them off at participating sites between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. A list of participating locations can be found at www.dea.gov .

Wisconsin residents dropped off 23 tons of drugs at 180 sites during the last "Take Back" day in April. Last year, both drop-off days resulted in more than 30 tons of prescription drugs being handed over.

Clark County
-Scott and Lori's Family Foods - 707 W. Third St., Owen
-Marty's Foods Inc. - 320 E. Division St., Neillsville

Marathon County
-Wausau Police Department - 515 Grand Ave., Wausau
-Kronenwetter Police Department - 1582 Kronenwetter Drive, Kronenwetter
-Rothschild Police Department - 211 Grand Ave., Rothschild
-Colby-Abbotsford Police Department - 112 W. Spruce St., Abbotsford

Portage County
-Almond Village Hall - 122 Main St., Almond (Noon to 2 p.m. only)
-Jensen Center - 487 North main St., Amherst (9-11 a.m. only)
-Lincoln Center - 1519 Water St., Stevens Point (10 a.m. to noon only)

Waushara County
-Saxeville Fire Department - W4666 Portage St., Saxeville

Wood County
-Pioneer Bank Lobby - 5758 Main St., auburndale (10 a.m. to noon only)
-Shopko - 1306 N. Central Ave., Marshfield
-Town of Rome Town Hall - 1156 Alpine Drive, Nekoosa
