Registration for the 2013 Ministry's Community Weight Race in Stevens Point begins this week. The 14 week weight loss competition challenges teams to lose weight and get healthy.

Teams and individuals can register and weigh-in on January 7, 8, 9 from 2 - 7 pm at the Ministry 2501 Bldg. located at 2501 Main Street in Stevens Point. Cost is $50 for teams of 3-5 and $15 for individuals.

The cost includes a t-shirt, calendar to track progress, fitness testing, workshops on excise and cooking, and a 50 percent discount on the smart dining program.

Participants must be 18 years or older.

There are three ways to win this year:
#1 – Earn points (in the form of raffle tickets) for attending presentations, workshops, coaching, donating food and completing challenges.

#2 – Losing 7% of total body weight from the start.

#3 – Losing 10% of total body weight from the start.

GRAND PRIZE! Teams that have every participant lose at least 10% will be entered to win a personal trainer for each member for 6 months, 1 hour of nutrition counseling with a dietitian and individual fitness testing. Estimated value $1,200/person.

Get your company healthier! Research shows that healthy employees and productivity go hand in hand. Companies that have a minimum of 25 employees in the MCWR will be eligible to have weigh-ins at their company!!! We'll also recognize one company with the 2013 Golden Scale Award–awarded to the company with the highest percent of employees to attain a 10% loss.
