The Red Cross says blood donations are down 8% this summer.
But The Blood Center of Wisconsin is trying to help.
It held a drive at the Rothschild Village Hall Thursday (7/24/14).
The Blood Center is in need of all types, but especially 0- which is the universal type that works in everyone.
Donations go down in summer because people get out of their normal routines and don't have the time to give
And The Blood Center's Vicki Bohman says because school is out.
"A lot of our blood comes from high schools and universities. And when they're not in session, that limits our ability to collect blood," she says.
The blood drive at the Rothschild Village Hall runs again Monday and Tuesday (7/28-7/29) afternoons.
In return for a donation, you get a free 1-day pass to the Wisconsin Valley Fair.
