The Wisconsin Emergency Operations Center announced Monday that the Monroe County medical examiner's office has confirmed the death of a 65-year-old Sparta woman was heat related.

The woman did not have air conditioning in her home and she also had an underlying health condition.

The woman died July 23. Officials did not release her name.

The medical examiner's determination puts the number of deaths related to the heat wave at five.

The other deaths are an 87-year-old City of Reedsburg woman, an 80-year-old Illinois man who died in Marquette County; a 65-year-old Columbia County man; and an 82-year-old Prairie du Chien woman.
