There will be a report on the 7th of each month about the battle against the disease.
The local affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure has recently launched a new website dedicated to breast cancer.
It's a nationwide organization dedicated to fighting the disease.
Having lifesaving information at your finger tips can make a world of difference when it comes to fighting Breast Cancer.
That's why Susan G. Komen for the Cure has a new website dedicated to informing the community about fundraising events, educational programs, and volunteer opportunities, which are very important says Susan Ford-Hoffert, the Central Wisconsin G. Komen group President, "We still have need for administrative help, and we need help with the web site. It’s totally volunteer, we have no staff-we don’t even have an office yet. So anybody who can do anything is really needed."
Ford-Hoffert says every little bit helps and hopes with the new website they can make it easier for women and men to have quicker access to what could be life saving information.
Ford-Hoffert also says, "If you have a local connection to resources to support groups and providers, it gives you a little more ammunition to get on that fight. It also brings you together with other people who have the same issues.
Statistically 1 in eight women will develop breast cancer in their lives, but the good news is studies have shown that 95 percent of those diagnosed early have a better chance of survival.
Ford-Hoffert also says the key for success for beating Breast Cancer is too catch it early when the treatments will give those diagnosed a fighting chance.
