Wisconsin's unemployment rate has dropped to 6.7 percent for November while the state added 10,300 private sector jobs.

The state Department of Workforce Development reported the latest figures on Thursday.

The unemployment rate dropped from 6.9 percent in October to 6.7 percent in November. That is a full percentage point better than the national average of 7.7 percent.

The figures are based on a monthly survey of about 3.5 percent of Wisconsin businesses and are subject to significant revision.

Gov. Scott Walker has all but disavowed the monthly figures, relying instead on quarterly data that's based on a census of about 96 percent of the state's employers.

Walker promised during the 2010 campaign to create 250,000 jobs over four years.
