SHEBOYGAN, Wis. (AP) -- A judge has ruled the trial of a Sheboygan teenager accused in the killing of a 78-year-old woman will remain in adult court.

Judge Timothy Van Akkeren ruled Wednesday after a hearing on whether to move the 14-year-old boy's case to juvenile court.

The Sheboygan Press reports the judge found the boy would have access to the same mental health programs, whether he's in the adult or juvenile correctional system.

The boy has not entered a plea yet. He and a 14-year-old friend are accused of bludgeoning the friend's great-grandmother, Barbara Olson, to death at her Sheboygan Falls home Sept. 17. The boys were 13 at the time.

The friend has allowed his case to remain in adult court and has pleaded not guilty by mental disease or defect.
