Wausau police are warning people to be on the lookout after four suspicious fires on the city's east side last Friday.
They all happened within three hours and a few miles of each other.
Police say they were grass fires, in wooded areas or near railroad tracks.
Passersby called in the fires, and the Wausau Fire Department quickly extinguished them. There was no significant damage.
"At this point we don't have a great deal of information as to who set these fires or what the purpose was and we are seeking information from the public regarding these," said Dept. Chief Bryan Hilts.
He says though there is nothing specific linking the fires, it's clear they're related.
They happened between 5 p.m. - 8 p.m. along the railroad tracks on Townline Road and Jefferson Street and in the wooded areas behind Thom Field and Hawthorn Hills Elementary School.
Anyone with information should call the Wausau Police Department at 715-261-7800.
