The supervisor of zookeepers and manager of the Virginia Zoo's bird and reptile collection is leaving after four years in Norfolk.
Craig Pelke will become curator of reptiles and aquatics at the San Antonio Zoo on Dec. 4.
Before coming to the Virginia Zoo in 2008, the graduate of the University of Wisconsin at Stevens Point was a zookeeper and later an area supervisor at the Milwaukee County Zoo from 1996 to 2008.
