The snow forced a number of cancellations on Thursday, and that included final exams for some students at UW-Marathon County. Now, they'll be back at school on Saturday to make them up.
The thought of cancelling finals due to the snowy forecast came up in a Tuesday meeting. The official decision was made Thursday morning at around 6;30 a.m.
The message then went out on eAlert as well as UWMC's website and their facebook page.
"It will affect [students] somewhat," says Gigi Koenig, Assistant Campus Dean for Administrative Services. "They do have jobs on Saturday which may have to be worked around. I know our instructors and faculty will make every opportunity available to meet the needs of the students."
She says students are encouraged to contact their instructors for more information.
The last time UW - Marathon County had to reschedule finals due to inclement weather was about two years ago.
