Trucking Company Closing Rapids Terminal, 37 Jobs Lost

Ruan Transport Corporation will close its Wisconsin Rapids terminal, cutting 37 jobs.

The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports the company notified the state this week, saying it had decided not to make the significant investment necessary to replace out-of-date equipment at the terminal.

Twenty-five truck drivers and 12 other employees are expected to be laid off in late March.

The Des Moines, IA based Ruan is a large trucking and logistics firm, employing about 5100 people in more than 230 locations across the country.
