Suspects Sought in Counterfeit Money Scam

The Marathon County Crime Stoppers have released the photos of two suspects wanted for questioning in connection to four complaints of counterfeit money.

Investigators say during the week of September 2, there were four reports of counterfeit $100 bills that had were received by businesses in the Colby-Abbotsford area.

One of the suspects is a white female in her mid 30’s with a tattoo on her right forearm and one on her right chest. The other suspect is a white male, described as being thin with short hair and wearing wire rim glasses. In at least two of the cases, they had a 2-4 year old blonde child with them. A witness reported the female left in a silver 4-door vehicle along with the male.
