The first of four suspects in a sting of burglaries in Portage and Adams counties was sentenced Wednesday morning in Portage County.
Nicholas Luke, 29, of Custer was sentenced to seven years in prison and five years extended supervision.
He was originally charged with 42 counts relating the thefts of various items including several thousand dollars worth of electrical wire from Wimme Sand and Gravel Pit in Plover.
During a plea deal in January, Luke was convicted of four of those charges. The other 38 charges were dismissed but were considered during his sentencing.
Investigators say the thefts occurred in November and December of 2011.
Cases against the three other suspects, Zach Deyo, 20; Bradley Stemper, 21; and Ben Jovanovich, 19; are expected to wrap up by this summer.
