16th Annual Polar Bear Plunge Held in Nekoosa

Lure Bar & Grill is hosting the 16th Annual Polar Bear Jump on Jan. 1 for anyone who dares to jump into the freezing waters of Lake Petenwell in Nekoosa.

Not only will “polar bears” prove their endurance, they'll also be raising money for the Children's Miracle Network.

Participants must raise a minimum of $25 to jump, those raising $50 or more through advanced pledges will receive a t-shirt and those who raise $100 or more will receive a t-shirt and CMN beach towel.

The top fundraisers will win prizes such as a Wisconsin Dells vacation package, HDTV or iPod Touch.

“Polar bears” will plunge at 1pm. Registration began at 10 am.

Hot tubs on site will be provided by The Pool People.
