A Portage County judge has dismissed a lawsuit against the condemnation of the Center Point Marketplace in downtown Stevens Point. The ruling clears the way for the construction of the Boys and Girls Club and Mid-State Technical College at the location.
The city condemned the building and took over ownership in October, 2011. But Iowa based Valley Bank sued over the action. Friday, the judge ruled the city followed the law when it took the action.
Point Mayor Andrew Halvorson calls it a huge victory for the city.
Construction on the college and club should be complete by February, 2013.
