Slippery Roads Cause Dozens of Accidents

Marathon County Sheriff's Deputies say they've responded to dozens of accidents all over the county since the roads began to ice up Thursday evening.

The wrecks have included some injuries, though none have been life threatening.

Deputies say police departments in the Wausau metro area and the Wisconsin State Patrol have also responded to numerous accidents.

The sheriff's department says the county highway department is expected to start salting roads, focusing mainly on the busiest, starting at 4am Friday. But, they expect conditions to be treacherous again for the commute Friday morning.
