Santa Tracker: Where Is Santa Now?

Posted: Mon 1:41 PM, Dec 24, 2012

364 days a year, NORAD watches the skies and seas for anything that could threaten the United States or Canada.

But on Christmas Eve, NORAD becomes the worldwide authority for tracking Santa Claus. The tradition started in 1955, when an advertisement in the Sears Roebuck & Co catalog printed the wrong number for a 'Santa Hotline'. Hundreds of kids began calling NORAD, which was called Continental Air Defense Command at the time.

Rather than turn the kids away NORAD began giving Santa's location to the kids, and telling them when they could expect his arrival.

You can track Santa's exact location below. He's expected to arrive in Central Wisconsin sometime before 1:00am, but Children are advised to go to bed early just in case!
