With the recent failed abduction attempt of a child from a Georgia Wal-Mart, parents are encouraged to remind their children of important tips that can help keep them safe.
Be sure your child knows your name, address, and phone number, and make sure they use the buddy system to avoid walking alone.
Help them to trust their instincts, and if they feel like they are being followed, to get help immediately.
Let them know thatt If a stranger comes up to them they do not have to talk to them, and if a stranger grabs them, have them do anything they can to get away, such as drop to the ground, kick, hit, bite and scream.
Remind them to attract attention by yelling " This is not my dad" or "This is not my mom."
While this may all seem to be common knowledge, it doesn't hurt to keep reminding your children.
