Snowmobile Club Looking For New Route
Your Town: New Snowmobile Route
Monday night the Rhinelander City Council approved a new snowmobile route through the heart of their trail system.
Originally, part of the trail had ran right through Rhinelander taking riders through the Rhinlander GMC car dealership lot on Stevens Street with no problems. But now, Toyota is going to start a project on that same lot in the coming months.
The Hodag Sno-trails Snowmobile Club came up with the new trail.
Jim Wimberger, president of the Hodag Sno-Trails says, “I had to go to every individual land owner and left them know what were doing and find any objections or what it may be. Fortunately, they have been very cooperative. They are snowmobilers themselves, which does help."
Wimberger says that the new trail will take riders completely around the lot avoiding any construction.
