Nekoosa Mayor Alan Marcoux has been elected to served a second term.

A recount took place Tuesday morning after very close results on April 1.

Numbers from April 1, showed Marcoux won by five votes. However, a recount placed the number even closer.

City Clerk Joe Rusch said during the recount a voter had voted for Daniel Carlson but marked the ballot with an “x” instead of filling in the oval. The machine did not read the vote but it was counted during Tuesday's recount.

Rusch said the recount took about two and half hours.
