The Wisconsin Department of Transportation is holding a meeting on Thursday, Feb. 28 from 5-7 p.m. To discuss safety improvement at County P from WIS 186 to just east of Connor Street, through the village of Auburndale.

The meeting will be held at the Auburndale Village Hall 5988 1st Street, Auburndale.

Local business and property owners are encouraged to attend.

Proposed improvements include:

Replacing the pavement on County P
Constructing a new local road system and closing railroad crossings to improve safety
Providing for safe pedestrian crossings over the railroad to connect the area south of the railroad to the village
Replacing deficient drainage structures

Construction is currently scheduled to begin in late summer 2014, with completion in 2015. When all improvements are completed County P (former US 10) will be jurisdictionally transferred to Wood County for ownership and maintenance.
