VERONA, Wis. (AP) -- Twelve people were taken to hospitals Tuesday after a prisoner transport vehicle crashed on a slippery highway in Dane County.

Verona police say the driver of the vehicle owned by North Atlantic Extradition Services of Columbus, Miss., lost control on Highway 18/151.

Ten prisoners and two security employees were taken to local hospitals. WKOW-TV reports none of the injuries are life-threatening. Officers from six area agencies were called in to accompany the prisoners to the hospital.

Westbound lanes of the highway were closed for about two hours.
