A Portage County doctor charged with 17 counts, 16 of which relate to prescription fraud, has pleaded not guilty.
Rick Perkins, 58, of Custer, is accused of prescribing pain pills to his stepson and his stepson's roommate, with the intent of taking the pills himself.
Police became suspicious of Perkins after Plover Police pulled over his stepson, Brian Beyer, and discovered a bottle of pills on the front seat of the car and Beyer's name wasn't on the bottle.
Perkins is free on a $100,000 signature bond. He'll return to court in March.
