Online court records show a 26-year-old Portage County man charged with the overdose death of University of Wisconsin – Stevens Point student is asking his trial be moved to another county.

Prosecutors say Erik Olsen sold heroin to Jordan Peterson, 21, on November 17, 2013. Peterson was found dead in his apartment that same day.

Olsen has already pleaded not guilty to a charge of 1st degree reckless homicide.

The decision regarding the motion is expected during a hearing on March 10.

A 26-year-old man accused of providing heroin to a University of Wisconsin- Stevens Point student Nov. 17 leading to his overdose death has pleaded not guilty.

Prosecutors say Erik Olsen sold heroin to Jordan Peterson the day he died.

Peterson's body was found by a roommate at their Briggs Street home.

Olsen will return to court on March 10 for a clerical court proceeding.

A 26-year-old man accused of providing heroin to a University of Wisconsin- Stevens Point student Nov. 17 is now charged with 1st degree reckless homicide.

Stevens Point police say Erik Olsen sold heroin to 21-year-old Jordan C. Peterson of Markesan, the day he died.

According to court documents, a witness told investigators Olsen would go to Madison 1-3 a week to pick up heroin and bring it to the area.

Olsen remains behind bars on a $100,000 cash bond.

A preliminary hearing date has not yet been set.

A Waushara County man is expected to be charged with the heroin overdose death of a UWSP student found unresponsive at his off campus apartment Nov. 17.

According to a new release, the Stevens Point Police Department is recommending Erik Olsen, 26 be charged with 1st degree reckless homicide. Olsen is behind bars on a $100,000 cash.

Online court records do not yet show that charges have been filed indicating an initial appearance court date has not yet been set.

Stevens Point police say Jordan C. Peterson, 21, of Markesan, was a senior studying biology.

Investigators say Olsen sold heroin to Peterson the day he died.

Stevens Point police say the 21-year-old student is Jordan C. Peterson. He was a senior studying biology from Markesan, WI.

The Stevens Point Police Department is investigating the death of a 21-year-old UWSP student.

Crews responded to the 1800 block of Briggs Street around 4:30 p.m. Sunday.

Assistant Police Chief Tom Zenner says an autopsy will be preformed Monday. They do not suspect foul play.

Toxicology results may take a week.
