INDEPENDENCE, Wis. (AP) -- Police are investigating a fatal pedestrian crash in the Trempealeau County.
The victim was struck in Independence about 6 p.m. Wednesday.
Emergency responders performed CPR and the victim was taken to Tri-County Hospital in Whitehall where she died of her injuries.
Authorities say the driver of the vehicle that struck the victim was taken to the hospital for a blood alcohol test. But, police say alcohol does not appear to be a factor in the accident.
