UPDATE: Pedestrian Killed in Abbotsford Crash ID'ed

The Marathon County Sheriff's Department has released the name of a 29-year-old pedestrian killed after being struck by a semi early Saturday morning.

Investigators say Brandon Sargent died at a Marshfield hospital.

The crash remains under investigations. Authorities could not comment whether charges will be filed or if drugs or alcohol were factors in the crash.

A 29-year old man is dead after being struck by a semi-truck near Abbotsford.

The Marathon County Sheriff's Department tells NewsChannel 7 the call came in around 4:10 Saturday morning. A semi truck traveling east on Highway 29 hit a pedestrian near Hiline Avenue. The pedestrian was transported to St. Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield.

The Marathon County Sheriff's Department is still investigating the accident. The names of those involved have not yet been released.
