A 23-year-old man is in custody following an alleged domestic incident that resulted in a four hour standoff with police. It happened Thursday afternoon in Stanley at home on East 2nd Street.
According to WEAU-TV, there was a report of shots fired inside the home, that's when the department requested help from the SWAT team.
"There was an altercation between the boyfriend and girlfriend in the residence, she was able to get out but he stayed there," said Stanley Police Chief Russell Kollmansberger during an interview with WEAU.
When the suspect would not come out of the home, gas was used. The suspect then came out peacefully.
No one was injured during the ordeal.
The suspect's name has not yet been released. He's currently awaiting charges in the Chippewa County Jail.
