Treyden Kurtzweil, the 1-year-old Stratford boy who's fight for life inspired thousands in the area, has lost his battle with a rare form of leukemia.
His parents made the announcement Wednesday evening on the Saving Treyden Facebook page.
This is their message:
Today is one of the first times that I don't have any words to say.. Treyden received his wings today, he was surrounded by nothing but love. Travis and I held him close and said our goodbyes. We will always be with you Treyden as you will be with us. Love you always and forever for infinity xoxo
Thank you all for your prayers and support for our entire family
Cassie, Travis and Treyden"
We first met Treyden in March, when his parents Cassie and Travis shared his story.
He had been diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Luekemia at two months old and had spent much of his life getting treatment at St. Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield.
Many people in the area held fundraisers to help cover some of the costs of the expensive treatments.
The Kurtzweil's had also gone to the well known St. Jude's Children's Hopistal in Memphis, TN.
But just last week, doctors told them the latest tests showed there was nothing else they could do and the family returned home.
Monday, hundreds gathered outside the Marshfield hospital to pray and wish Treyden a happy first birthday.
