It was music to my ears as I watched the Almond-Bancroft Band perform, but it’s the passion for the music that lead them to project today.
Band music is typically written for 33 instruments, but Mary Nowinski’s band has only 16 members.
Despite their challenge, Mary came up with an idea to give students at the college level real life experiences, and her high school students an opportunity to interact with the focus on music.
Anne Huemann, a cello player for 10 years plans to be in the same shoes as Mary, and is thankful for the opportunity.
Anne told us, “This project is exactly what we’ll have to do in the real world so why not take this opportunity to work with the students and my colleagues on something that we are passionate about.”
Nine pieces of music were re-written and arranged for the specifics of the Almond-Bancroft Band.
