Man Sentenced to 10 Years in Double Fatal Waupaca Co. Crash

A 24-year-old Waushara County man will spend 10 years in prison after killing two people in a traffic accident in Oct. 2010.

Christopher Royer pleaded guilty to five charges including two counts homicide by negligent operation of a vehicle in Sept.

Royer was sentenced Thursday in Waupaca County.

Prosecutors say Royer's car struck another vehicle near Royalton in Waupaca County on Oct. 23, 2010. A passenger in his car, Danielle Belanger, 21 died at the scene.

A man in the other vehicle, Milton Barnhart, 75 died a month later.

Police said all three people in Royer's car were smoking marijuana prior to the crash. According to WLUK-TV, Royer had been speeding and hilljumping.

Following his sentence, Royer will spend 10 years on extended supervision.
