One of five suspects in gang related assault case in Forest County has been sentenced.
Preston Kruensterna, 18, is one of several people charged with beating a man and holding a 17-year-old pregnant girl against her will earlier this year in Mole Lake.
Friday in Forest County Court, Judge Leon Stenz sentenced Kruensterna to nearly seven years in prison and 11 years on extended supervision.
According to a Rhinelander newspaper, the girl said the beating began after one of the suspects asked the victim, a 32-year-old Wausau man, if he was going to testify in a case in Marathon County.
The victim suffered four stab wounds, multiple lacerations and facial trauma.
A judge ruled the case was so violent Craig McGeshick, now 16, would be tried as an adult. Last month, he received a similar sentence and will spend nearly four years behind bars and six years on extended supervision.
Melvin Zarda, 18, was sentenced to nearly four years in prison and eight years on extended supervision last month.
Jesse Daniels, 20, and Dakota Tuckwab, 21, are both scheduled to head to trial in January.
